BogeyCam Privacy Policy

1. What we collect
- Account details — your name, email address, and a hashed password.
- Round content — the video clips you record, your scores, and round details (name, players, timestamps).
- Service logs — which API actions your account performed (endpoint, time, response status), used to operate and improve the service. We do not log your IP address or device identifiers.
- Purchases — if you buy the unlock, the App Store or Google Play processes the payment; we only record that your account is unlocked. We never see your payment details.
BogeyCam does not collect your location. If a future version adds course-location features, the app will ask for permission first and this policy will be updated.
2. How it's used
Solely to run BogeyCam: signing you in, sharing scores and clips with the other players in your round, and stitching highlight reels. We don't sell data, we don't show ads, and we don't share your data with third parties for their own purposes.
3. Who can see your content
Clips, scores, and reels are visible only to the players in that round. Reels can be saved and shared outside the app by any player in the round — only film people who are happy to be filmed.
4. Retention
- Raw clips are deleted automatically 30 days after a round finishes.
- Highlight reels are kept until the round or your account is deleted.
- Service logs are kept for up to 12 months.
5. Deleting your data
Delete your account any time from the Profile screen (or see /account/deletion). This immediately and permanently removes your profile, the rounds you host (including clips and reels), and your clips and scores in other rounds.
6. Security
Data is stored on our servers and transferred over encrypted connections. Passwords are stored hashed, never in plain text.
7. Your rights
Under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 you may request access to or correction of your personal information. Email us and we'll respond within 20 working days.
8. Children
BogeyCam is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
